Half Heard - Terms of Use
Last updated: September 4, 2026. Half Heard is made and published by Victoria Garland Creative Inc. These terms are short because the app’s licence lives with Apple; this page covers a few plain commitments.
The licence. Half Heard is licensed to you under Apple’s standard End User Licence Agreement. Purchases, billing, subscription renewal and refunds are all handled by Apple through the App Store, under Apple’s terms; Half Heard never sees your payment details. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in iOS Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. Refunds are Apple’s to grant, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
The free tier. The first thirty nights that produce a drift mark include the full trail-off. After that, the free tier keeps a plain fade to silence with listening up to thirty minutes a night, and the noise bed on its own stays free and complete. Thirty nights are counted in nights you actually used, not in calendar days.
Not medical advice. Nothing in the app, and nothing on this page, is medical advice. Half Heard makes no health claims: the noise bed is not a treatment for anything, and sleep problems are a conversation for a doctor, not an app. The app describes what its audio does, the voice fades and the noise holds, and nothing more.
Podcast content. Half Heard is a player. It hosts no shows, operates no catalogue and redistributes nothing. When you add a show, the app fetches that show’s public RSS feed and plays or downloads the publisher’s own files, from the publisher’s own servers, for your personal, time-shifted listening. It never strips or replaces advertising, and never transcodes or re-hosts audio. All rights in the shows you listen to remain with their publishers.
Rights holders. If you hold the rights to a show and would prefer that Half Heard no longer suggest or fetch your feed, email support@victoriagarland.ca and it will be acted on promptly. No forms and no process; a plain email is enough.
As-is. The app is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind beyond those Apple’s standard licence provides and those the law does not allow us to exclude. We try to keep it reliable through the night, and the app keeps a plain-English diary of what it did so that when something goes wrong you can see what.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it.
Contact. Questions about any of this can be sent to support@victoriagarland.ca. How your data is handled is set out in the Half Heard privacy policy.
