When Plus Is the Right Call

We tell merchants Plus is the right move when at least one of these applies:

Checkout customization is a real requirement. Compliance reasons, custom payment logic, or B2B flows that standard checkout can’t support.
You need multiple storefronts. Wholesale alongside DTC. International markets with separate catalogs, currencies, or languages.
B2B is core. Native company accounts, customer-specific pricing, net payment terms.
Annual revenue is comfortably in the low millions. The math on Plus stops feeling expensive when it’s a small percentage of what’s flowing through.

If none of those are true, you’re probably on the right tier already, and a strong standard Shopify build will serve you better than upgrading prematurely.

Enterprise Migrations

Migrating to Plus from Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or BigCommerce Enterprise has its own playbook. We’ve seen the patterns that catch teams out: customer password rehashing rules, metafield strategy for legacy product data, redirect maps that preserve organic traffic, plus the careful order-of-operations during cutover weekend.

We plan migrations in detail before any code is written. Discovery typically runs 2 to 4 weeks. Build runs 8 to 16 weeks depending on complexity. Cutover is its own dedicated phase with rollback plans.

Do I actually need Shopify Plus?

Most stores under low-millions revenue don't. Plus pays for itself when you need checkout customization, multi-store, native B2B, or Shopify Functions. We'll tell you honestly during discovery whether the upgrade fits your scope.

Can you migrate us from Magento or Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Plus?

Yes. Enterprise migrations involve data, redirect mapping, customer rehashing, theme rebuild, and SEO continuity. We've shipped a few and we plan them in detail before any code is written.

Do you build checkout UI extensions?

Yes. We build checkout extensions on Plus that pass review and deploy cleanly. We also know when to use Functions instead of an extension, which saves merchants money over time.

Who handles Shopify Plus support during launch?

Your assigned Shopify Launch Engineer plus our team work together. We coordinate cutover, monitor closely for the first 30 days, and escalate to Plus support directly when needed.
