Ecommerce Replatforming Services

Replatforming is a rebuild with your data and rankings riding along, not a data export. We plan the move, migrate the catalog with its customer and order history, build the new storefront, and cut over with a redirect map that protects what you already rank for. One team, one fixed quote after the audit.

Website replatforming from WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, Lightspeed, Squarespace, and custom-built stores onto Shopify or Shopify Plus. Most projects land in the low to mid five figures, storefront included.

Replatforming an ecommerce store is the highest-stakes technical project most brands ever run. Done well, you keep your traffic and your revenue while landing on a platform that costs less to run and lets you sell the way you want to. Done badly, you lose rankings and orders for months. The difference is almost always in the planning, not the import.

We are an ecommerce replatforming company focused on Shopify, building on the platform since 2012. We handle the platform decision, the data, the redirects, the integrations, and the new storefront as one project, so launch day is a relaunch rather than a downgrade.

Request a Replatforming Quote

Tell us what you're on now, roughly how many SKUs you carry, whether B2B or subscriptions are in play, and what's pushing you to move. We'll come back with a scope, a timeline, and a fixed quote, from the developer who would run the project.

When It Is Time to Replatform

Most of the stores we replatform arrive with one of the same five problems:

  • The platform is expensive to keep alive. Hosting and security patches, paid extensions, and a developer on retainer just to keep the lights on. This is the WooCommerce and Magento story most often.
  • You cannot sell the way you need to. B2B price lists, subscriptions, multi-currency, or wholesale that the current platform bolts on badly or not at all.
  • The storefront is slow and nobody can fix it. Core Web Vitals that will not move because the theme and the plugins fight each other.
  • The last agency left. Custom code nobody documented, and no one willing to touch it.
  • You are on a sunset platform. Magento 1, an old Lightspeed plan, or a custom build whose original developers are gone.

If none of those apply and the store is working, we will tell you to stay put. A replatform is not something to do because it is fashionable.

What a Replatforming Project Includes

Website replatforming touches more than the product export, and the pieces people forget are the ones that hurt at launch. Every project we run covers:

  • Platform recommendation. A written read on whether Shopify or Shopify Plus fits, and what changes about your operations if you move. Yours to keep either way.
  • Data migration. Products with their variants and images. Customers with accounts intact. Full order history for support and analytics. Categories mapped to collections. Blog content with its authors and images.
  • Storefront rebuild. A custom theme built during the replatform, not billed as a follow-on project six months later. A migrated default theme rarely does a real catalog justice.
  • Integrations reconnected. ERP, 3PL, email marketing, reviews, loyalty, and accounting, each evaluated in the audit and mapped to a Shopify app or a custom replacement.
  • Redirect map and SEO continuity. One-to-one 301s built from what is actually indexed, with the metadata and structured data carried across.
  • Cutover and monitoring. A scheduled DNS switch, redirects deployed the same hour, and 30 days of watching Search Console and the order flow for anything that slipped.

Ecommerce Platform Migration by Source Platform

We keep a dedicated playbook for each of the platforms we replatform from most often, because each one hides its problems in a different place:

WooCommerce to Shopify

Plugins that quietly own your subscriptions, your SEO metadata, and your product data. We map every one before the move so the store leaves WordPress maintenance behind without losing what was working.

Magento to Shopify

Enterprise replatforming from Magento 1, Magento 2, or Adobe Commerce. Multi-store setups, B2B catalogs, and custom module replacements, mapped to standard Shopify or Shopify Plus.

BigCommerce to Shopify

Options, modifiers, and B2B price lists carried across cleanly, with a full redirect map so your organic traffic comes with you.

Lightspeed, Squarespace, Wix, and custom-built stores are covered by the general migration service, and Shopify to Shopify replatforms (rebrands and regional stores most often) happen more often than people expect.

Why Replatforming Goes Wrong

Most failed replatforms share the same root cause: the team treated it as a data export rather than a rebuild. Redirects get skipped or done in bulk without checking what is actually indexed. Custom functionality gets discovered halfway through the build instead of during the audit. The theme gets ported as-is, so the new store performs no better than the old one. Integrations get reconnected the week of launch.

We front-load the risk. The audit is where we find the messy parts (the custom checkout logic, the one integration nobody documented, the product type that does not map cleanly) before they can derail a launch. By the time we cut over, there are no surprises left.

Replatforming Timeline and Cost

Store profileEstimated timelineTypical project cost
Small catalog, simple products, no B2B4 to 6 weeksLow five figures
Standard catalog with some custom functionality6 to 12 weeksMid five figures
Enterprise with B2B and multi-store12 to 20 weeksMid to high five figures

Those are the bands most of our replatforming projects land in, new storefront included. The number moves on catalog size, how much custom functionality needs a Shopify-side replacement, and whether B2B or subscriptions are in play. You get a fixed figure after the audit, not a range.

Two costs get confused. The first is the Shopify plan you pay Shopify each month, which replaces the hosting and the paid extensions you were renewing before, and for many stores the running cost drops. The second is the replatforming project, paid to us once.

What's included

  • Platform decision backed by a written recommendation
  • Products, customers, and order history migrated
  • New storefront built during the replatform
  • One-to-one redirect map for every indexed URL
  • Integrations reconnected: ERP, 3PL, email, reviews
  • 30-day post-launch monitoring

How it runs

  1. 1
    Audit

We inventory the current store: catalog, custom code, integrations, and the SEO footprint that has to survive the move.

  2. 2
    Plan

Platform recommendation, data mapping, redirect strategy, app replacements, and a cutover schedule with dates.

  3. 3
    Build

Staging store and data import, then the new storefront and integrations, with QA against the live store.

  4. 4
    Cutover

DNS switch, redirects deployed, then 30 days of close monitoring.

FAQs

What is ecommerce replatforming?

Replatforming is moving an online store from one ecommerce platform to another, with the catalog, customers, order history, and search rankings carried across. It is bigger than a data migration because the storefront gets rebuilt and every integration gets reconnected on the new platform. Most brands replatform because the current platform costs too much to run, cannot support the way they now sell, or has become a maintenance burden.

How long does a replatforming project take?

Most run 6 to 12 weeks from audit to cutover. Small catalogs with simple products can be done in 4 to 6 weeks. Enterprise stores with B2B, multi-store, or heavy custom functionality can run 12 to 20 weeks. You get a milestone schedule with dates before kickoff.

What does ecommerce replatforming cost?

Most of our replatforming projects land in the low to mid five figures, with the new storefront built into that number rather than billed later. Catalog size, custom functionality that needs a Shopify-side replacement, and B2B or subscriptions are what move the figure. We give a fixed quote after the audit, not a range.

Will we lose our search rankings when we replatform?

Not if the redirects are done properly. We pull the real indexed URL inventory from Search Console and the old platform, build a one-to-one 301 for every page that matters, and carry over titles, descriptions, canonicals, and structured data. Some movement is normal while Google reprocesses the map, and most stores settle back to prior rankings within a few weeks.

Do you only replatform to Shopify?

Yes. We have built on Shopify since 2012 and we replatform stores onto Shopify or Shopify Plus. If Shopify is the wrong call for your business, the audit will say so, and you keep the written recommendation either way.

Which platforms do you replatform from?

WooCommerce, Magento and Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce, Lightspeed, Squarespace, Wix, and custom-built stores. Each has its own playbook. If you are on something else, ask and we will tell you honestly how clean the move will be.
